FAST-LINE PLUS™

Description
Fast-Line PlusTM is an innovative fast-setting two-part solvent-free polyurethane resin for the in-situ lining of pipelines.  It is extensively used for the lining of potable water pipelines as it is suitable for centrifugal spray application using conventional in-situ spray lining equipment for fast-setting resins.

Fast-Line PlusTM is a Subterra creation and is produced by Subterra in its own manufacturing facility under a production quality assurance system independently certified to BS EN ISO 9001.

Originally developed for potable water applications, Fast-Line PlusTM is also being considered for opportunities in the gas and petrochemical sectors.

Fast-Line PlusTM is available for direct purchase in the UK and overseas at commercially competitive rates. Both exclusive and non-exclusive supply terms are available by agreement.

Scope

  • Spray applied Fast Setting Polyurethane Resin
  • Formulation is solvent-free, true polyurethane contains no epoxy and amine
  • Extensively applied to potable Water Networks
  • Can be applied to pipes from 75mm to 1500mm in Diameter
  • Capability to be sprayed at thicknesses varying from 1mm to over 5mm in a single pass without material change
  • Lining lengths up to 200 metres
  • Excellent slump resistance, adhesion and negligible shrinkage
  • Tolerant to moist surfaces
  • Fast-setting - applied lining touch dry in 30 minutes, return to service in 2 hours

Benefits

  • Same day customer return to service
  • Low- and high-build coating application with same lining rig – operational flexibility
  • Provides a durable, inert resin barrier layer on the pipe bore which prevents re-corrosion
  • Smooth coating improves the flow characteristics of previously corroded mains, with associated supply pressure reduction opportunities
  • High-build linings can resist pipeline internal pressures/prevent leaks where spanning corrosion holes/gaps in the host main
  • Suitable for use in all water types, including soft water supply areas where pH pickup from cement mortar linings is unacceptable

No requirement for excavations on main to re-connect customer services

IN-SITU APPLIED EPOXY RESIN – ELC 173/90

ELC 173/90 is a first-generation two-part solvent-free epoxy resin material for the in-situ lining of drinking water mains. The product has been designed to meet the water industry’s stringent demands for contact with drinking water, and for the durability in service of in-situ applied resin linings

First introduction in 1990, ELC 173/90 rapidly became the material of choice for the in-situ epoxy lining of water mains, with more than a million litres having been supplied into the UK lining market. The material is applied using conventional resin spray lining equipment incorporating heated material storage tanks and umbilical hoses.

ELC173/90 is produced by Subterra in its own manufacturing facility under a production quality assurance system independently certified to BS EN ISO 9001.

Manufactured In Subterra’s own production facility under an quality assurance system independently certified to BS EN ISO 9001

The product can also be used for factory lining applications.

ELC173/90 is available for direct purchase in the UK and overseas at commercially competitive rates. Both exclusive and non-exclusive supply terms are available by agreement.

Scope

  • Spray Applied Epoxy Resin
  • Solvent-free, benzyl alcohol-free formulation
  • Approved by the UK Secretary of State for the in-situ lining of drinking water mains.
  • Spray Lining from 75mm to 1500mm diameter
  • Suitable for centrifugal spray application using conventional in-situ spray lining equipment with heated storage tanks and umbilical hoses
  • Lining lengths up to 200 metres
  • High build capacity with minimal slump – can be applied in thicknesses of 1-2mm in single pass, depending on pipe diameter.
  • Excellent adhesion to substrates and tolerant of moist surfaces
  • Minimal shrinkage following application and cure
  • Touch dry in 4 hours, statutory 16 hours cure prior to return to service.

Benefits

  • Provides a durable, inert resin barrier layer on the pipe bore which prevents re-corrosion
  • Thin, smooth coating improves the flow characteristics of previously corroded mains, with associated supply pressure reduction opportunities
  • Suitable for use in all water types, including soft water supply areas where pH pickup from cement mortar linings is unacceptable
  • No requirement for excavations on main to re-connect customer services

FACTORY-APPLIED EPOXY RESIN – ELC 257/91

ELC 257/91 is a second-generation epoxy resin that has been developed for the in-process factory seal coating of cement mortar linings applied to ferrous pipes.

The thin seal coating of ELC 257/91 epoxy resin serves two principal functions:

  • It reduces moisture loss from the freshly-applied applied cement mortar lining during the production curing cycle, thereby ensuring an improved quality of cure in the mortar.
  • When in service, the microporous nature of the applied seal coat helps prevent the rapid leaching of lime from the mortar, which can be the cause of water taste problems  which can be a particular problem in soft water supply areas.

ELC257/91 is produced by Subterra in its own manufacturing facility under a production quality assurance system independently certified to BS EN ISO 9001.

ELC 257/91 epoxy resin has been used successfully for many years by leading UK manufacturers as the principal method for the in-process factory seal coating of its cement mortar lined ductile iron pipes destined for use in UK drinking water supply and distribution mains.

ELC 257/91 is available for direct purchase in the UK and overseas at commercially competitive rates. Both exclusive and non-exclusive supply terms are available by agreement.

Scope

  • Factory Spray Applied Epoxy Resin
  • Solvent-free, benzyl alcohol-free formulation
  • WRAS approved for contact with drinking water
  • UK Secretary of State approval for contact with public drinking water supplies held as part of factory-applied seal coated cement mortar lining pipe bore corrosion protection system approvals for ductile iron pipes
  • Spray Lining from 75mm to 1500mm diameter
  • Suitable for centrifugal spray application using bespoke factory spray lining application and control equipment, with heated storage tanks and umbilical hoses
  • Excellent adhesion on moist, freshly-applied cement mortar lining surfaces

Benefits

  • Promotes enhanced in-process cure of factory-applied cement mortar linings on ferrous metal pipes and fittings
  • Reduces the rate of lime leaching from the cement mortar lining when new pipes introduced into service, particularly in soft water areas.
  • Promotes the carbonation of cement mortar linings in service, thereby reducing rates of mortar deterioration, particularly in soft water areas.
